I would just like to share what I've learned and experienced while doing prenup shoots. This is to give additional info to couples who are planning to have/avail prenup services, and to answer some FAQ's as well.
1. Avoid overly crowded places
- If you want to have prenuptial shoot in baywalk or other popular areas/parks, schedule it on weekdays where there's bound to be less people than on weekends. It's very difficult to shoot when there are people passing by between the photographer and the couple, plus most of the couples feel uncomfortable when there are strangers staring at them while they're having their pictorial.
- If your set to have a prenup at Enchanted Kingdom, pls. note that it's difficult to have pictures while on the rides if the line is too long. You will spend more time lining up than on the rides. Photographers are allowed only in certain areas so finding a good angle is a challenge specially when the subject is moving.
2. Secure a permit
- Call the management of the area where you want to have your prenup and inquire if they have any special requirements like permits and fees.
3. Keep an eye on the weather
- If there's a forecast of a typhoon coming within your scheduled outdoor prenup , discuss with your photographer other options for pictorial like indoor or hotel pictorials. If time is not a problem, reschedule your shoot as early as possible.
4. Dress code
- This depends on where you want to have your prenups. It's best to wear something out of the ordinary but comfortable. Huwag naman naka pambahay! You can also schedule your trial hair & make-up with your prenup to make you look more beauiful.
5. Communicate
- Get to know your photographer. It's easier to be in front of the camera when you're at ease with the one behind. Tell your photographer what you want and ask for suggestions/opinions. Come prenup day, discuss feasibility of the shots you want in relation to your location and current condition (overcast/cloudy/foggy, harsh sunlight, low light/night time). Good lighting condition is essential for good photographs.
6. Be yourself and enjoy the experience.
- If you want wacky shots, you have to be wacky. If you want passionate shots, you have to be passionate and sweet. The photographer cannot do it for you. We can direct the poses but the emotions must come from within yourself.
Have a fun prenuptial pictorial everyone!
